When should I bring my pet in for emergency services?

Dolly Mae our 1 year old Basset hound had her first visit with them today! So blessed to have amazing Vet Techs & Doctors there to help support our sweet girl who FEARS the vet. Dr. Scalise is VERY amazing & very instructive, and can really tell she cares about the pets she handles ! She helped ease my anxiety… Katelyn Vet Tech Assistant is wonderful and was able to trim my girls nails without an issue ! Have to say from me and Dolly, that these two girls are very helpful & good at what they do! Let me also mention Savanna (sorry if I spelled that wrong) but she was the one who helped alot as well & she was very good with my girl !! Thank you all 💗💗 10/10 highly recommend you guys!!

Our dogs have been seen here for over 13 years and there aren’t enough stars allowed for us to show our appreciation of Plaza Veterinary Hospital. We said goodbye to our 13 year old German Shepherd last week and the professional, compassionate care we all received was exceptional. Every member of the staff showed us that they are all committed to pets and their families. Called Plaza Veterinary Hospital in the early afternoon. My 3 year old collie had been sick since the day before. I was a new patient and did have future scheduled appointments but I needed to bring our dog in immediately!! Spoke to a receptionist, explained the situation and was given a later afternoon appointment with Dr Scalise.Arrived at scheduled time and the entire situation was handled so professionally. She saw the sick pup, handled all aspects of the appointment, along with her tech assistant Caitlyn, and sent us home armed with approximate medications snd instructions. Told us to call if anything arose. She was totally confident as well as friendly and caring!And the bill for all this was actually within affordability.Could not be happier with our decision to use Plaza Veterinary Hospital.Onward to more visits for our beloved animals at this top shelf veterinary hospital.Thank you!!

I’m not a review person but Plaza vet moved me. My lab suffered a bad dog attack and I was at the point to put him to sleep. I called Plaza vet mid day and they were kind enough to fit me in. When Dr Thomas walked in she told me two things …..1. I’m not one to do unnecessary things to save a dog and 2. I’m also not one not to try if I think I can help.She was genuine and discussed my labs condition with me. She said she wanted to try one thing. She explained everything with me and sent me home. She saved my yellow lab Duck’s life. I know that might sound melodramatic but it’s true. And after 8k spent at emergency vets her charges were very fair. And her staff called me over the weekend to check on Duck something the 8k vet has yet to do.I know every dog can’t be saved but I want anyone who reads this review to know Plaza vet and its staff care. They really care. They are kind, empathetic and very competent. They are my vet from now on.

Yes I am a customer, well my cat SADIE is-lol, and we are very content with all aspects of the Veterinary care we receive at Plaza Vet in Burlington, NC. First time I have had a pet as an adult and am in my 60's. Was unsure of the processes needed to ensure my SADIES' well being, but everyone at Plaza was welcoming and patient and you could tell they actually LOVE animals. Not just a job for them. Listens and communicates well as far as necessary services and the even more personal needs of the animals-and their humans as well! Keeps in contact via texts, calls or emails (you tell them which is better for you) and I am confident my SADIE is healthy! Plaza gives me that piece of mind needed to be a successful pet human.

We had to make the heart breaking decision to put our baby girl Princess to sleep Friday. The staff and Dr. Thomas was absolutely amazing!! They were so kind and caring and made a horrible moment as bearable as possible. The Dr. herself went above and beyond anything we have ever experienced and we will always be grateful. We still have one fur baby at home and we will continue to bring him here and whoever we bring in to our home next. We would not trust to anyone else to care for our babies!

I cannot imagine ever going to another vet. Dr. Thomas and Dr. Wicker are amazing and make such a great team as well as all the staff. My dog loves people, but isn’t so great around other animals. The staff know exactly how to handle him, and always take such great care of him, as they did my first dog. Even though I have to drive a little further to get to them, they are so worth it for the quality of care all of my pets have received from them. Thank you all!

Dr Scalise was so great when our cat had a mystery illness.. we thought he was bitten by a copperhead and he spent the night at the vet ER, but needed more monitoring the next day. She was very attentive and ran the necessary tests, but did not try to just run everything to charge more because she could. Happy to report that Binx is on the mend from whatever he got into, and happy to take my animals somewhere where they truly care, and don't try to make money off of you, and want the best for your pets!

We adopted a dog from shelter, and he is very reactive to other animals and a bit hyper but they are great with him. We also get him groomed here as well and she does a great job. He can just be hard to deal with and they do an overall great job with him! They are also very responsive and accommodating. I love this place and the people that work here. Took in a stray cat a couple months ago (lovingly named Mylo now) and he had his first visit for ear mites on Tuesday after Plaza was referred by the Spay and Neuter clinic last month when I got him neutered and his rabies shot.Dr Scalise was absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable and just so warm and bright! They gave him lovins and talked about what a good cat he is and his calm demeanor. She got him fixed up with some meds and Plaza even called today, a day and a half after his visit, to see how he’s doing! Never had a vet office follow up like that just to ask how he’d been since the visit. Plaza was extraordinary! Definitely look forward to taking him there for many years to come!Thank you to the friendly staff and doctors! It means the world when they treat your pet as if it was their own!💚
