FAQs About Dog Grooming

We understand how important your dog is to you, so we always do our best to help them stay comfortable and relaxed when we provide grooming services. We also want to make information about dog grooming readily available to you, so you’ll find the answers to some frequently asked questions below. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have follow-up questions.

How long until my puppy can be groomed?
Puppies need to be fully vaccinated before you bring them in for grooming. At that point, they’ll usually be about 16 weeks old.
How often does my dog need to be groomed?
The answer varies for different breeds. If your dog has longer fur, you may want to bring them in for grooming as frequently as every 4 to 6 weeks. For short-haired breeds, making a dog grooming appointment every 8 to 12 weeks should suffice.
How should I care for my dog in between appointments?
You shouldn’t need to bathe your dog more than once in a 1 to 3-month period unless they get really dirty playing outside, but you should brush their fur a few times a week to stop it from getting tangled and matted. In addition, you should brush your dog’s teeth regularly to prevent dental disease.
Do I need to schedule a dog grooming appointment ahead of time?

Yes, please do. Booking an appointment well in advance (several months if possible) will ensure that we have room in our schedule to groom your dog when they need it.
